The Down Syndrome Consortium website is maintained by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), one of the 27 Institutes and Centers within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

  • If you have questions about the Down Syndrome Consortium or Down syndrome research at the NIH, please email downsyndrome@mail.nih.gov.

  • In addition, the NICHD Information Resource Center provides information to the public on Down syndrome and other health issues within the NICHD research portfolio. Trained information specialists will take your call and direct you to health information, related resources, and materials ordering. Information specialists are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
  • Members of the news media can contact the NICHD Public Communications Branch, at 301-496-5133, or by fax at 301-496-7101, for information about NICHD news releases or to schedule an interview with NICHD scientists.

Messages sent to the NICHD Webmaster are processed Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., EST, except for federal holidays. We try to respond within 48 hours; however, messages sent late Friday or over the weekend will not be reviewed until the following business day.
